Angela Ricci Lucchi was an Italian filmmaker and artist. She studied painting under Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg. In the 1970s, she began a lifelong collaboration with her partner, Yervant Gianikian. Together, they created influential found-footage films examining the specters of war, genocide, and colonialism. Their notable works include From the Pole to the Equator (1986) and Prisoners of War (1995).
